Twenty players were either optioned (40-man roster) or reassigned (non-roster invitees) yesterday, as the Dodgers completed the first round of cuts. There were no surprises, but there was definitely a lot of talent that was demoted.

The four optioned players were pitchers Brock Stewart, Dennis Santana, and Henry Owens, as well as utility man Tim Locastro. The 16 reassigned players were pitchers Yaisel Sierra, Joe Broussard, Daniel Corcino, Brian Schlitter, Zach Neal, C.C. Lee, and Brian Moran, catchers Keibert Ruiz and Shawn Zarraga, infielders Edwin Rios, Matt Beaty, and Drew Jackson, and outfielders Yusniel Diaz, DJ Peters, Travis Taijeron, and Henry Ramos.

Excluding injured players we already know won’t be on the 25-man Opening Day roster, that leaves 18 more cuts for the Dodgers to make before the season starts on March 30, which is in just 19 days. Cannot wait for actual baseball to start.
