The shorthanded Dodgers dropped the middle game in Miami, as the offense struggled against Cal Quantrill and the overworked bullpen led to J.P. Feyereisen taking the ball in the 10th. It did not go well. Has the five-man infield literally ever worked?
Anyways, today’s the finale in Miami and Feyereisen was optioned for Landon Knack to return to the rotation. Knack will need to give them some length today, as Tanner Scott pitched back-to-back games and Anthony Banda, Alex Vesia and Luis García have all pitched in three of the last four (including last night). Matt Sauer is with the team on the taxi squad in case anyone hits the IL as they near the end of this 10 games in 10 days stretch.

Mookie Betts is back in the lineup after a scheduled day off yesterday (he did pinch hit, but Enrique Hernandez took the field in his place after). Hyeseong Kim starts his third consecutive game and makes his first start in center, and Austin Barnes starts behind the plate.

A couple positive injury updates. Clayton Kershaw made a rehab start in Arizona yesterday and threw six no-hit innings before finishing up in the bullpen, throwing around 80 pitches total. He’s scheduled to start Sunday for OKC, and assuming all goes well he’ll rejoin the rotation on May 18. Teoscar Hernandez‘s timeframe is also coming to light, and he could be back in a couple weeks if he progresses well.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:40 PM PT and will be shown on SportsNet LA.
