The first full week of the Arizona Fall League is in the books, and several Dodger prospects are getting regular playing time on the Glendale Desert Dogs. Chase Harlan had the strongest week of the bunch, with two home runs and a double. He also walked four times and even added a stolen base.

The 20-year-old slugger is getting some reps in at first base, though it’ll be a learning process as he couldn’t corral a wide through on Sunday that led to a walk-off loss. He still needs reps at third; while he has the athleticism and arm strength, Chase is a raw defender.
Eduardo Quintero went 3-for-13 during the week, walking three times and stealing a base. While it’s been somewhat of a slow start for the outfielder, Quintero is 12th in the circuit with a .476 OBP through five games and has walked more than he’s struck out.

Charles Davalan has gotten off to a difficult start. The 22-year-old is 1 for his first 14, though he’s only struck out twice. The good news is he’s looking like a natural at second base and the bat should come around with more playing time.
On the mound, Sam Horn made a pair of scoreless appearances. The righty struck out all three batters he faced on Tuesday, sitting in the mid-90s with his fastball and getting a pair of strikeouts with the curveball. On Sunday, he walked the leadoff man but immediately picked him off, then induced a flyout and a comebacker for another quick inning of work.

Brooks Auger made his AFL debut on Monday, giving up a two-out walk and a weakly hit single in his 1 ⅔ innings of work. He struck out three, using his whole repertoire in the outing. The fastball topped out at 97 and he mixed in the cutter, slider, curve and changeup.

Luke Fox made his second start and kept his ERA at a perfect 0.00. The lefty ran into trouble in the second after walking the first two batters he faced. He recovered with a groundout and a strikeout before being removed and the inherited runners didn’t score.
Another southpaw, reliever Cody Morse, worked a pair of scoreless outings. He reminds me a little bit of former Dodgers reliever Kelly Wunsch, as a long, sidearm southpaw who creates difficult angles for lefty hitters. He allowed a pair of hits and struck out three in a combined inning of work.
