In the rubber match of a series in New York against the Mets, the Dodgers rallied late against the opposition pen, coming from behind in a 3-2 victory to take the series.

After an uneventful 1st, Walker Buehler got into trouble in the 2nd. He issued a one-out walk and a single, then gave up a two-run triple on his 10th pitch to Brandon Nimmo to make it 2-0.
After getting shutout by Zack Wheeler through three innings, the Dodgers finally did something in the 4th. Max Muncy singled to start, advanced to second on a ground out, and then eventually scored on a two-out single to left by Corey Seager to cut the lead in half to 2-1.
Buehler ended up going just five innings, though it’s no reason for concern as it was a planned short outing for rest purposes. He gave up two runs on two hits and two walks striking out only one.
Pedro Baez took over in the 6th and cruised through a 1-2-3 frame. Dustin May followed in the 7th and ran into some trouble after surrendering a single and hitting a batter after one out, but he then rebounded with back-to-back strikeouts to escape the jam.
Meanwhile, the offense wasted a lead-off double in the 3rd and the 6th, then also wasted first and second with one out in the 7th. However, they took advantage of Wheeler exiting in the 8th. Jedd Gyorko drew a walk to start, advanced to second on a balk, and then got to third on a wild pitch. Chris Taylor eventually cashed him in with one out on a double to right-center field, tying the game at 2-2, though after Cody Bellinger was intentionally walked the rally ended there.
Kenley Jansen got the 8th and cruised through a perfect frame on just 10 pitches that included a three-pitch strikeout of Pete Alonso.
That allowed the bats a chance to take the lead in the 9th and they did just that. A one-out double to left-center field from Enrique Hernandez set the table, and then with two down Gyorko (?) of all people came up clutch with a hard single up the middle for a 3-2 lead.
Look … uh, yeah.
Adam Kolarek entered in the 9th to face a lefty and he did his job by inducing a routine grounder. Kenta Maeda then followed to close the game out and started by getting a fly out to right, but he then issued a walk to bring the winning run to the plate. Thankfully he rebounded with a strikeout to secure the victory.

The win improves the Dodgers to 97-54, which is decent. They now lead the Braves by 4 games in the NL and are 1 game behind the Astros and Yankees in the MLB.
After a 4-2 road trip, the Dodgers return home for a two-game series against the Rays following a day off.
