Two more games! Two more meaningless, inconsequential games.

For tonight, it’s the usual, except that A.J. Ellis, Matt Kemp, and Hanley Ramirez return to the lineup, and Carl Crawford and Juan Uribe take a day. That means Andre Ethier starts consecutive games for the first time since 2009. (Probably.) I had thought, perhaps, that Ramirez would get as much time as possible to rest his sore right elbow, but with so much time before meaningful baseball, it makes sense that the regulars would still get their swings.

So in the meantime, we go through the motions with the Rockies — Michael McKenry, cleanup hitter! Cristhian Adames, who I had to look up because I’ve never heard of him! September baseball is the best. Sometimes.

But wait, because tomorrow should be interesting:

You know, we’ve always figured that Ellis had a future as a manager. He’ll probably be a great one. But Uribe? Now that sounds like a lot of fun. I’d make jokes, but…

…can’t top that.
