Dodgers @ Cardinals June 6, 2025: Wrobleski returns pending rain delay in St. Louis

The Dodgers squeaked out a 6-5 win yesterday thanks to a strong ninth inning from Tanner Scott (?) and a game-winning knock by Michael Conforto (!?) to split the series with the Mets. They took four of seven on the homestand against the two New York teams, and now travel to St. Louis to open a six-game roadtrip.

Justin Wrobleski returns for his third start in the Majors this season with Landon Knack being optioned. His first start was a nightmare, as he allowed eight runs in five innings in DC back in April. He got a start in mid-May and tossed four shutout innings and only allowed one hit to the A’s. He’s had a rough time in AAA this season and has allowed nine runs in 10 1/3 innings in three outings since his last Major League outing. He was on turn though, so he gets the call today. Sonny Gray counters for the Cardinals.

Chris Stratton also returns to the Dodgers after being DFA’d earlier this week. He refused assignment to the minors, but was re-signed today and is active in St. Louis. Ryan Loutos was DFA’d to make room for Stratton after two egregiously bad outings in the Majors.

Shohei Ohtani‘s next bullpen is being pushed back until next week with rain in the forecast all weekend in St. Louis. Hopefully there won’t be rain in the forecast in San Diego, where the Dodgers get their first look at the Padres starting Monday.

First pitch was scheduled for 5:15, but the game is in a weather delay with no announced start time as of me scheduling this. At least it allowed me to get a thread up. If they do get a game in today, it’ll be on SportsNet LA.
