Roki Sasaki made an 0-2 mistake to Ty France as his control continued to regress in June, and that was about all that was needed because the Dodgers offense couldn’t get anything going against Walker Buehler and blew the few chances to rally they did get in a 7-1 loss to the Padres.

It was the Dodgers that got on the board first against Walker Buehler, as Mookie Betts hit his 10th homer of the year to stay hot, giving them a 1-0 lead in the 2nd.

That didn’t last long, as Roki Sasaki continued to regress, walking the first two batters of the 2nd before giving up a three-run homer on a 0-2 hanger to Ty France that made it 3-1 Padres.

He almost got yanked in the 4th when he loaded the bases, but barely managed to work around that.

He then allowed a double and a walk to start the 5th, and that was it. Jack Dreyer entered and bailed him out by getting three outs without further damage, issuing only an intentional walk that led to an inning-ending double play.

Unlike his last two starts where he looked alright until the end, this was a disaster: 4 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 5 BB, 2 K, 81 Pitches
Brock Stewart got the 6th, issuing just a two-out walk, and Edgardo Henriquez got a clean 7th. Jonathan Hernandez got the 8th, giving up three singles, a double, and two walks for four runs to make it 7-1 Padres.

The Dodgers had not done much for most of the game seeing potential rallies killed by a strike ’em out, throw ’em out double play and then a traditional double play, but they rallied in the 6th.
A walk knocked Buehler out with one down, and then a double and intentional walk loaded things up. However, Max Muncy popped out on a potentially disastrous play from Manny Machado and Kyle Tucker did his normal thing to kill that rally.

A clean 7th, another double play with two on in the 8th, and did nothing in the 9th
